ある日の午前の光景
ある日、道を歩いていると高いビルが目に入りました。 「ビルがこんなに高いのは 鋼が支えるおかげです」。

最近の スマートフォンはとても画面が大きいです。 そうだ、「液晶画面にはインジウム (ITO)」 が使われている。 電池に思いを馳せます。
「バッテリーには 昔は 水素吸蔵 (合金、今ではリチウムイオン電池が使われています)」
ベンチでパソコンを取り出しました。 電源をいれると直ぐに情報が読み出せます。
パソコンを見ながら「(昔は) ハー ドディスクはネオジウム磁石が使われていたけど、
今では半導体のSSDになって いるなあ)」
